How Did We Get Here?

Hearing health is something we often take for granted until it starts to impact our daily lives. I’ve seen firsthand how even a mild hearing loss can impact relationships, confidence in social settings and connection to the world around us.

After completing my undergrad at UWO and completing my Hearing Instrument Practitioner diploma at MacEwan University, I worked in a larger clinic setting for over a decade. Although I appreciated my time there, I kept coming back to the same idea – everyone deserves access to quality hearing healthcare and there shouldn’t be a “cookie-cutter” mold to care that everyone is expected to fit into. I found myself frustrated with how I was expected to deliver care and felt it was important for me to find a solution that matched my values.

Fast forward through some months of planning, asking my husband and parents to proofread business plans & finding the perfect location - here we are! Middlesex Hearing Centre is meant to feel different. As a third-generation business owner in Middlesex County, I understand that building a business has always been about showing up, knowing people by name and building trust over time, not just transactions. Whether it’s your first hearing test or you’ve been wearing hearing aids for years, the goal is the same – to make things clear and comfortable. As much as I love seeing the latest hearing aid technology, the big picture is about being able to reconnect people with sounds they’ve been missing.

Outside of the clinic, my home life keeps me rooted here – at the arena, ball diamond or community events where you see familiar faces everywhere you go. What a privilege it is to serve the same communities I grew up in – that sense of belonging somewhere is not something that I take for granted. I appreciate the opportunity to build a locally rooted, professionally trusted practice here in Lucan!
